Perched atop historic Mount Patti in Lokoja, Kogi State, where the mighty Rivers Niger and Benue converge, MPGGP is dedicated to transforming this iconic landmark into a world-class eco-tourism, sports and heritage destination.
Mount Patti Global Glory Preservers Ltd. is an independent tourism promotion and heritage organization committed to honoring Nigeria’s past while illuminating its brilliant future.
From this vantage point in 1897, British journalist Flora Shaw gazed upon the landscape and coined the name “Nigeria.” Today, we preserve and elevate that legacy, ensuring Mount Patti becomes a global beacon of natural beauty, cultural richness, sporting excellence and sustainable development.
Rising 458 meters above sea level, it is a living monument of history, trade, colonial memory, community resilience and national identity.
Explore ProgrammesMount Patti has witnessed centuries of history, including ancient trade routes, colonial milestones such as Lord Lugard’s Rest House, and the enduring resilience of local communities. Yet for too long, this treasure remained grossly underutilized.
Mount Patti Global Glory Preservers was founded to bridge that gap through community-driven initiatives, stakeholder partnerships and pioneering projects that celebrate and protect this national asset.
We connect sports, tourism, hospitality, environmental conservation and cultural preservation into one credible development platform for Kogi State and Nigeria.
We believe tourism should uplift, not exploit. Through innovation and integrity, we are turning Mount Patti into a model of 21st-century African heritage preservation, local empowerment and sustainable destination development.
To position Mount Patti as Africa’s premier eco-tourism, sporting and adventure hub: a sustainable destination that rivals the world’s greatest natural and cultural wonders while driving economic growth, environmental stewardship and global recognition for Kogi State and Nigeria.
The annual Mount Patti Eco-Cultural Racing Competition and other sporting spectacles that showcase the terrain’s unique challenges and beauty.
Plans for cable cars, high-breed elevators, improved trails and a 100MW solar energy project to ensure accessibility and sustainability.
Hiking experiences, panoramic viewpoints, cultural tours and educational programmes highlighting the site’s role in Nigeria’s story.
Collaboration with government, media, local communities and international partners to unlock Mount Patti’s full potential.
At MPGGP, “Glory Preservers” is more than a name. It is our solemn pledge. Every initiative is designed to protect lush landscapes, ancient trees and biodiversity while creating meaningful opportunities for locals.
Whether you are a visitor seeking awe-inspiring views and adventure, a partner ready to invest in Nigeria’s future, or a visionary passionate about heritage, Mount Patti Global Glory Preservers welcomes you.
Come stand where history was named. Help us write its glorious next chapter.
